This is a really interesting take on knowledge vs. intelligence and can impact the way in which content is developed and shared across social networks - how content may be impacting community as social networks spread a variety of insights.

Plus, there are a ton of comments and related posts spawned from Greg's original post. Definitely worth a read.

Knowledge used to be spread by entourages, e.g. professional networks & conferences. The web has certainly democratised the process, but is much less policed. Provided one can separate the chaff from the wheat, web-based knowledge management & market intelligence can be extremely efficient.
